Meet your storyteller

Jessica Sommerville

Photography is where my soul feels happy. A true, heartfelt moment of emotion, captured forever.

Jessica's childhood

One of my earliest memories from when I was young was sitting with my Grandad in his armchair and looking down at his anchor tattoos on his arms and asking why he had them. His would gently laugh and tell me stories of serving the country he loved but also of how much he missed my Grandma whilst he was at sea, so he carried a small portrait of her in his pocket. Her love was then with him forever. I was always glued to these stories and how love could be carried around, in your pocket, wherever you may go.

This is where it all began for me, my passion just escalated and today I am proud to deliver emotive, passionate and moving galleries for people to carry their love with them just like my grandad did.

I specialise in creating everlasting memories from chapters in life and documenting them in an artistic and emotive manner. I place your family at the very heart of what I do.

I love to make images that make the viewer feel like they could step back right into that very moment and experience it, just as it was meant to be told.

I simply “Capture the Chapter you are in” by seeing and recording moments of joy or sadness to keep next to your heart forever.

I see my work as a collection of ‘Chapters” We all rush through the ebb and flow of life sometimes and the next thing we know years have past without realising. I like to document even the small moments in life so you can look back on them with joy. I love this collection of old photographs I found in my Grandmas’s closet as they show things I had forgotten, but come rushing back as soon as I look through them. My Grans handbag by the washing as she rushed home from work to peg the endless washing out before the night came. A sign that she existed, that she was here!

“To my husband and my two boys. Mummy loves you right up to where the sea meets the sky.”
